Default Judgment

If the defendant doesn't serve their defense within 20 days, you can request a default judgment. Noting in default is a legal process in Ontario small claims courts where the court acknowledges that the defendant has not responded to the claim within the specified time frame (20 days). This can lead to a default judgment in favor of the claimant, essentially meaning that the court may rule in the claimant's favor due to the defendant's lack of response or appearance.
